I have found myself intersted in the wonderful illustrated cards done by the French Army artist Bouchor durring WW1 and printed for the Red Cross.
They seem to be numbered as a series, and I wonder if there is alist of them anywhere?
bonjour jon,
perhaps an image of one of these cards would help a member recognize your search. i am not a PC collector, but i do run into some in my quest for stamps.

He was the official WW1 French Army artist and had a very distinctive style. It seems that the Red Cross printed a series of color postacrds of his work of famous WW1 figures- I assume to raise money for the Red Cross.
Here is an example of General Mangan - I am quite taken by his work and think it is really good. They are numbered on the baclk so I assume it was a specific series.
